Week Four of The Scarlet Pimpernel Read-Aloud!

Greetings from an incredibly wet and cold Missouri! It has been raining here for the past week or two, pretty much non stop.

What's been going on your ya'lls worlds?

Over here, Katherine has been testing out vanilla cakes on us to find the perfect one for a few cake orders she's received. Papa and I thought the first one was great, but Mamma thought it too heavy, so she ended up going with the second recipe. Pictures will follow in a later post!

We attended a friends wedding last Sunday, which was so much fun; I helped in the serving line again, dishing out the creamed celery, which not many people wanted, but was REALLY GOOD! I'll have to ask for the recipe.

Ummm... our nephews spent last night and today at our house for online schooling and we introduced them to the old Davey Crockett movie, which we loved as kids and still love. I think we had better success with Swiss Family Robinson last week!! ? kept asking if this one was almost done!

Back to the subject at hand, here is the next video, we do apologize for the dullness, we rambled off topic alot and had to cut it out so...... enjoy!! Also don't forget to reply to our very important question down below*!!

*What is your opinion of our little into sketches at the beginning of the videos? Is any of it making sense or are they completely nonsensical? Would you like to hear more from the Librarian and Sidney? Should we just skip them? Please let us know in a comment! Thanks so much!!*

Farewell my dears!

  3. I highly approve of the gifs in this post! Especially the first two, as that is my favorite movie. It's funny, about the time that you said you had watched Swiss Family Robinson, I rewatched it, too! I like the intros, and look forward to listening to more.

  4. Oooh, yes Richard Armitage could play a brilliant Chauvelin! It would be entertaining watching him try to do a French accent, though. Oh dear me.

Do keep your sketches at the beginning of the videos. They always make me laugh.

I enjoyed this set of chapters. It's hilarious how my brain pretty much just watched the scenes from the movie while you were reading.

Oh dear, you're making me think that maybe I should go to at least one opera that isn't The Phantom of the Opera which I also love. Just not Italian. I'm afraid that I watched Smallville and Lionel Luthor loved Italian opera and he turned me 100% against it. And yes, I would go to an opera with you both if we were anywhere in the same vicinity.

I actually attend English Country Dance class (not quite contra, but close). I miss the class terribly since it's not in session right now due to Covid. I haven't gone since February. :( Which means we won't have the regular Christmas ball that they always host where we wear Regency dresses. *sigh* Next year! There's always next year!
