We have come to our last post in our 3 part series for Cordy's Lovely Blog Party!
Alack.....alas.....we are undone!....
But, wait!
The end is not here yet, so without further ado, we present.......
*starts humming wedding march*
🎶Dun dun da da...
1) Ross & Demelza
[Poldark]
We couldn't find a video so here's a gif! This wedding was so simple and sweet (mainly because it wasn't planned) and also because it was the best thing Ross did in a while and for a while!!
(We know you Poldark watchers understand what we mean.....)
2) Ty & Amy
[Heartland]
I was SO glad when Ty and Amy FINALLY had their wedding! These shows just drag it out sooooo loooong...it's painful! But then the episode was here and it was just the perfect wedding for the two of them!
3) Jack & Elizabeth
[When Calls the Heart]
Oh, Jack and Elisabeth! I'm so glad that their wedding happened in Season 5, before a certain event (which we shall not mention so as to not spoil the show for others who may not have watched it) occurred.
4) Robin & Marion
[Robin Hood]
This scene brought back the meaning of the traditional marriage vows for me and just made me sob! Ahhhh, so sad!!!!
5) Maria & Georg
[Sound of Music]
BEST WEDDING MARCH EVER!! This is just a classic cinematic wedding moment that will forever go down in history!!
6) Meg & John
[Little Women]
I always loved this wedding when I was little. The happy couple embracing in the middle, surrounded by family and loved ones singing a beautiful song...and Laurie making faces at Jo! What could be better?
7) Tzitel & Motel
[Fiddler on the Roof]
This was my dream wedding, growing up...still is to some extent! The utter infectious joy, the bittersweet song, and the meaning behind the customs all come together in such a beautiful way!
8) Gus & Felicity
[Road to Avonlea]
Time stamp- 10:06- 11:56
This is such a wonderful wedding! Finally, Gus and Felicity get their happy ending after all they've been through together., And the whole side drama with Aunt Hetty refusing to attend the wedding because of her disagreement with Aunt Olivia was just so funny! I love how leading up to the ceremony, Felicity keeps on asking if Aunt Hetty has arrived yet, and then finally, after walking down the aisle, and still no Aunt Hetty, halts the wedding ceremony to go bring Aunt Hetty to the wedding herself!
10) Jasper & Olivia
[Road to Avonlea]
Aunt Olivia & Jasper's wedding was so hilarious! Poor Aunt Olivia, having gone through all Aunt Hetty's wedding preparations (which were totally the opposite of what she and Jasper had wanted), and then on the day of the wedding, finds out her wedding dress, which she didn't even like, was misdelivered and she got the one that was three sizes too big! And then Aunt Hetty runs off to find the right sized dress, brings it to the church, drags Aunt Olivia (who had just started down the aisle) back into the vestibule! Hurriedly, she helps Aunt Olivia change into the right dress and then re-opens the sanctuary doors, letting Aunt Olivia proceed once again towards her husband -to-be! I mean, the creativity these writers had to come up with this stuff is just incredible! I just love it!
11) Prince Humperdinck & Princess Buttercup
[The Princess Bride]
Hee, Hee, we just had to include this one, just for fun!
12) Dexter & Tracy
[The Philidelphia story]
I am a big fan of Katherine Hepburn, Jimmy Stewart, and Carry Grant, so this movie is one of my favorites. I LOVE the fact that in the end, the original couple are reunited; that like never happens!
13) Charlie & Rosie
[African Queen]
'By the power vested in me....I now pronounce you husband and wife. Proceed with the execution!'
Hee, Hee, best line ever!
14) Anne & Gilbert
[Anne of Green Gables]
Finally, Anne Shirley becomes Mrs. Blythe!
15) Prince Henry & Spanish Princess
[Ever After]
I always laugh so hard during this scene! The poor princess crying her head off and Henry having NO idea what to do; it's just perfect!!!
16) Percival & Nellie
[Little House on the Prairie]
Nellie and Percival were such a cute couple, but, girl? Lose the bows!
17) Mr. Incredible & Elastigirl
[The Incredibles]
-' I thought it was playful banter.
-It was playful banter.
-Cutting it kinda close, don't ya think?'
14) Sully & Micheala
[Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman]
I really like how this was such a happy day for everyone, not just the bride and groom! Doctor Mike looks absolutely gorgeous and it's so wonderful that now Sully, Mike, Mathew, Colleen, and Brian are a family (officially anyway, because we know that in reality, they've already been family for a while)!
Ahhh, weddings are so fun! Which movie weddings are your favorites?
Did we miss any? *cringes*

Katherine's Answers
1) If you could spend one week in a TV show, what would it be? This is kind of hard...., but I'm going to pick Avonlea!
I just love the Road to Avonlea series and I'm due for a re-watch soon! The Edwardian fashion is so lovely and there's always something fun and exciting going on!
#2 What is your favorite Period Drama Movie or TV Show?
Oh, dear - there are so many good ones!! Agh....I can't pick! I'm not really a person who has favorites, so I'll just pick one....or two that I really like!
What's not to love about this Mini-Series?? You've got sorrow, comedy, wit, more sorrow (just kidding), and it's just a very fun watch! It's even better now that we've seen it before and can anticipate our favorite parts while watching together.
#3 What is your favorite Movie Soundtrack? Hmmmm....*asks Grace*....I really, really, really love the themes from Sense and Sensibility (2008). I was so distraught to find there was no soundtrack to procure (How could you do this to me, BBC?), but then I found a CD called A Piano at Pemberly on Hoopla, that had a cover of the main theme on it! Happy day!! So if any of you love the music like I do, the CD is probably on Amazon. But for now.....the real thing:
(I couldn't find a specific playlist on the last one, so just know it's the first 3 videos on the YouTube search link above)
#4 What is your favorite Bible verse?
I'm going to go with Mathew 11:28-30. I love this verse: “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is comfortable, and My burden is light.”
#5 Which Sketch Lovely drawing ($30 or less) would you pick if you won the giveaway? I could probably pick several, but this one is my favorite: Pride & Prejudice Illustration. (I know it's $5 over, so maybe I could pay the difference if I won?)
Grace's Answers
#1 If you could spend one week in a TV show, what would it be?
There are a few, but I'll go with Timeless.
Time travel, people! History, people!
And a fun and awesome team who have each others backs!
Yes, there's the danger and death and people shooting at you...
But TIME TRAVEL, PEOPLE!!!!!!
I'll risk it!!
#2 What is your favorite Period Drama Movie or TV Show?
It's a tie between Testament of Youth
& The Finest Hours
I love them both dearly!
#3 What is your favorite Movie Soundtrack?
Again, I can't think of just one! Paddington 2 is a lot of fun and quite sweet, Quigley Down Under is terribly exciting and action-y and How The West Was Won has the most beautifully stirring choral arrangement of "I'm Bound For The Promised Land"!
Today we have a list of some of our favorite "declarations of love" movie scenes!
What constitutes a "declaration of love", you may ask? Well, for us this means any scene where a character expresses his or her feelings of love to or about their love interest, whether for the first time, or in reaffirmation.

1) Edward Ferris & Elinor Dashwood
[Sense and Sensibility]
This is the only video of Edward's proposal that we could find and it's not the best, but we couldn't not include this couple so just fill in the blanks where needed!
I just love this scene! It's just so sweet. Here Elinor has been so miserable on her own, trying to be happy for Edward's imminent marriage, and then finally, when she resolves herself that he's not the one for her, he shows up and announces himself quite free! Aghh!! And then he tells her how long he's loved her, but why he couldn't tell her.....and....will she marry him????
2) Tzitel & Motel
[Fiddler On The Roof]
I ADORE Motel and Tzitel! And when Motel overcome's his fears to stand up for his love AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!
This scene is just.....wonderful! I love Motel's timid sincerity as he states his case before Tevye and then rises to the occasion to tell his future father-in-law why he's a good match for Tzitel! Oh, it's a wonderful dialogue!
3) Alfie Arlis & Minnie
[Lark Rise to Candleford]
Minnie is the purest little lump of goodness and she found the perfect match in Alfie! I love that line, "I am yearnin' for him and he is yearnin' for me",
*goes off sobbing*
4) Cosette & Marius
[Les Miserables]
I have one word for you.....
🎝'Just one look and I knew.....I KNEW IT, TOO'🎜
(actually, that's 10 words, but who's counting?)
Eeek! I adore this part of Les Mis!
5) Emma Woodhouse & Mr. Knightley
[Emma]
'I find....I do not know what to think'........
(sighs dramatically)
6) Prince Henry & Danielle de Barbirac
[Ever After]
Oh my word, I love this movie so much!!!! And Prince Henry's proposal? Where are my smelling salts, I'm about to swoon!!
Oh, come now, Grace, you're not really going to...(hears loud thud)...Agh! Grace!! Grace? GRACE?! Hill! HILL! Fetch some water immediately!
7) Prince Albert & Queen Victoria
[The Young Victoria]
This scene is so touching! Albert was the only one rooting for Victoria's success, while Victoria's own mother was interested only in controlling her daughter's power as Queen.
8) Amy Dorrit & Arthur Clennem via John Chivery
[Little Dorrit]
Poor dear sweet John! He deserved better! This scene is so emotional I'm gonna cry!
Katherine -
9) Grace O'Malley & Tiernan
[The Pirate Queen]
Grace and Tiernan are such a testament to lasting love and commitment. If you haven't listened to this musical, stop right now and save it to listen to later. It is AMAZING!
10) Anne Elliot & Frederick Wentworth
[Persuasion]
Oh, this love story is so heart-wrenching........but in a good way! This scene was done just beautifully with Anne reading Frederick's letter, and then running, trying to catch the him to tell him.....*sniff, sniff*......to tell him.......*sniff, sniff*......she loved him too!! Oh, it's just too delightful!
11) Demelza & Ross
[Poldark]
This was one of the best Poldark moments! The poor thing in love with a good for nothing, stubborn, bullheaded, proud, Ross and then he FINALLY realizes what a treasure she is.......and how much he in fact is in love with her!
12) Fanny Price & Nick Arnstein
[Funny Girl]
This song is sung after Fanny and Nick are already married, and when they are going through a VERY rough patch. It is Fanny's reiteration of her love and willingness to stand by her husband and I think it's just beautiful and was crying from the start! Fanny, you dear, wonderful, beautiful thing!!! Yes, you stand by your man and let him know that you won't let him go! Barbara Streisand has such an amazing voice!
13) Mia & Nicholas
[Princess Diaries 2]
Ah yes, the ever perfect response to a declaration of love...
"Do you have a chicken for my table?"
Just keep that in mind ladies and gents!!!
And we reach the end......alas!
So what are your favorite confessions of love? Have you seen any of the scenes from our collection?
