April Read Along- Week One

(Katherine and Grace's Office)

("La Campanella" by Franz List is playing in the background.  Grace is seated at her desk before her typewriter reading a file marked "Blog Posts". Katherine enters, lugging a fat ginger cat and a tattered quilt with a seam ripper in her mouth. She sits upon the fainting couch, arranges the cat and beings ripping off the seams on the back of the quilt.)

Grace- Katherine, did you post about our Read-Along yet?

Katherine- No, I was going to sometime today.

Grace- Well, according to our archives you already posted it. You must have posted the unfinished draft.

Katherine- No, I haven't even made a draft yet, I've been too busy re-designing the blog look. The pictures you picked out went together really well!

Grace- I thought so too, but how did this get posted?... wait a minute... Sidney??

Katherine- Sidney? Oh wait, isn't he the Librarian's secretary?

Grace- Yeah, according to this the Librarian had Sidney plant a BUG IN OUR SITTING ROOM!!!!

Katherine- WHAT??

Grace- Yeah, and they thought that we wouldn't get around to posting it, so they posted our ENTIRE CONVERSATION!!!!!!

Katherine- *timidly* a-all of it?

Grace- Yes.....this is unbelievable, how could they?

Katherine- Isn't planting a bug without a warrant illegal?

Grace- I think so. We have to find that bug!

(Both girls rush into sitting room and frantically search for the bug. An hour later the room is in shambles and both girls are defeatedly slouched on the couch)

Katherine- What are we going to do, Grace? I mean we searched everywhere. For all we know, Sidney could be ex-CIA and we'll never find the bug.

Grace- Ughh...I think we need to have a chat with our "dear" Librarian and get her to remove her bug or we shall pursue legal action!

Katherine- I agree, but until then I have an idea how we can still talk with impunity!

(The Librarians Office)

(The Librarian is quietly filling out paperwork while Sidney sits before the wireless, taking down the girl's conversation coming from the listening device, silence and efficiency permeating the environment. Suddenly, Sidney screams, clutches his headphones, and flings them off his head)

Librarian- What on earth was that, Sidney? What happened? What did they say?

Sidney- Oh ,my poor ears!

Librarian- SIDNEY!!

Sidney- They didn't say anything, their blaring the Phantom of the Opera Soundtrack! I can't hear anything they're saying!

Librarian- Blast! Well, if nothing else, they are clever....but we are cleverer still! Sidney, I have another job for you!

Sidney- Should I call my lawyer?

Librarian- Nonsense, we have a contract to uphold! We are completely bathed in legality here. Are you ready for your assignment?

Sidney- *moans* Ready as I'll ever be.
