The "Do I Have That Book?" Challenge
Hello, fellow Bibliophiles, how are you all this fine day? A couple days ago I read a post by The Story Sponge (which you can read here) and it made me think about my own beloved bookshelf, so I decided to borrow her post! Let's go!
Do you have a book with deckled edges?
No, I most unfortunately do not, though I love them so!
Cheaper by the Dozen by Frank B. Gilbreth Jr. and Ernestine Gilbreth Carey takes the prize! There are 15 people on the cover!
Do you have a book based on another book?
The Outlaws of Sherwood by Robin McKinley is a retelling of Robin Hood which I like much better than the original.
Do you have a book with a title 10 letters long?

Under Water by my dear friend Jesse Hart Wilson
This was really hard to find, but I dug The Light in the Forest by Conrad Richter, out of it's chasm of shame. I really did not like this book, but that was several years ago... time for a re-read perhaps?
Do you have a Mass Market Paperback?

I think my copy of Anne's House of Dreams is a mass market paperback, but I'm not sure!
I thought I did, but now I'm not sure, so not to my knowledge!
Do you have a book with a character's name in the title?
Do you have a book with a character's name in the title?
All the Betsy Tacy books have Betsy's name in the title!
I actually have two, but my favorite is The Dark Sea of Darkness by Andrew Peterson. It's the first book in The Wingfeather Saga and is soooo much fun!
Do you have a book that was turned into a TV show?
Do you have a book that was turned into a TV show?
I do not.... but I have many that should be!!! Don't get me started!!
Do you have a book written by someone who was originally famous for something else? (Celebrity/ athlete/ politician/ TV personality)
Every Frenchman Has One by Olivia de Havilland is a charming little book about Madame de Havilland's move to France and her life as an American transplant, wife and mother.
Yes, Shiloh Autumn by Bodie and Brock Thoene. I own every book I have read so far by this couple, which are quite a few, I highly recommend them!
I co-own with Katherine a copy of 'The Poems of Longfellow'.
I have several...*takes deep breath*, Hope Was Here by Joan Bauer, Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein, Charlotte's Web by E.B. White, The Giver by Lois Lowry, To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, and The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle.
Nope! And I looked for both my real name and my alias!
I have two sets, but the prettier of the two is 'My Book House' edited by Olive Beaupre Miller. Both are old collections of stories for young people. (Sorry for the bad photo!)
Warsaw Requiem by Bodie and Brock Thoene, book 6 in The Zion Covenant Series.
Do you have a book that was turned into a movie?

Surprisingly yes, as I am not a big fan of graphic novels, but my grandmother sent us Sense and Sensibility and that is the only way I can say that I've read it! The illustrations are really cute!
Captivating by John and Staci Eldredge
Well that was fun! Katherine and I are in the process of combining our rooms so we can covert the other into an office, so I've been running back and forth between the rooms to look at all my books since sadly there is not enough space for both our collections in our new room!
I'm not going to specifically name names and challenge anyone, but *insert chorale music* if you'd like to challenge yourself, I officially bestow upon you my blessing!

On a completely unrelated side note, our goat Esther has given birth to the first babies of our kidding season! Triplets!!!!! Two boys and a girl; the one boy has HUGE legs so we may name him Clydesdale... or Dandelion if Mamma has her way! She really likes the herb and flower names, last years baby girls were named Tansy, Zinnia and Azalea! Do you have any name suggestions????
~
Have a wonderful day, y'all!
