When Calls The Heart Season 7

 ~~~~~~
Friends, Romans, Countryman!  Lend me your ears!
(Well, actually just your eyes, but whatever)
Today, as promised, we are back to review Season 7 of When Calls the Heart!  Grace and I typed up this review together, like we did last time, so watch for Grace's text in Blue and mine (as you've probably guessed) in Red.
We actually finished Season 7 the night we posted our review of Season 6, and therefore have been procrastinating on publishing this post since then!
It's terrible - I told Grace that we should hurry up and write this post right away after finishing the season, so we didn't forget anything, but oh no.....And now I'm FORGETTING EVERYTHING!
(glares pointedly at Grace)
(Grace loudly slurps her tea)
So, needless to say, I hope my brain cooperates with me and I can recall enough of the good details to share with you.
Enough with the dramatics, shall we begin, oh dear one?
We shall, oh dear one!
Season 7 opens up with a bustling Hope Valley!  Clara and Jesse are making plans for their  upcoming wedding, Lee is taking Rosemary on a long promised vacation, Elisabeth is typing away at her novel, Henry Gowen is being interviewed by a reporter, and Nathan and Lucas are very busy pining away for the town's beloved schoolteacher....(no, just kidding on that last part).
We see quite a bit  of "action" during the Season's 10 episodes.  We gain a married couple (guess who?), we almost lose 3 different characters, Henry faces a lawsuit, Elisabeth's love triangle deepens, and Nathan's past comes knocking when his father unexpectedly arrives in town.
Here are the highlights that stuck out to us from this season, Grace, take it away.
Nay dear sister, thou shouldest go first, being this post is thine brainchild!
Very well *ahem*
Elizabeth's Book
Elisabeth gives Lucas the first few chapters she's been writing and Lucas, thoroughly enjoys them. He then proceeds to mails them to his mother who is an editor, asking for her professional opinion. When he tells Elizabeth of his mother's reply, she becomes upset that he didn't think to ask her first before sharing her work with someone else......because he is unfeeling, and has no conscience of betraying those he claims to care for. This creates a bit of tension, that resolves itself, unfortunately, with an apology from Lucas. By the end of the season, Elisabeth finds herself in possession of her very first book deal!
Clara and Jesse's Wedding
I just loved this wedding! The original plan was to have the ceremony by the pond...
but due to a thunderstorm and torrential rain, the church was the only other option…or was it? At the last minute, or rather 2 or 3 hours before the ceremony, Elizabeth recruits the townsfolk to transform the saloon into a BEAUTIFUL fairy forest! It was amazing and so sweet to see everyone working together to make Clara and Jesse’s day what it should be.
And the bridesmaid's DRESSES! AHHHH, they were so beautiful and chic; I especially loved Fiona’s!
And Clara’s dress was gorgeous too, perfect for the theme of the wedding and I’m glad they chose to have Clara sew it herself. That extra touch was just *chef's kiss*
Bill walked her down the aisle in a very touching, but very Bill moment!
And then the actual wedding was, of course, very sweet. Though the big deal everyone made about finding a pastor to officiate, didn't make any sense since Pastor Zeke didn't really do anything and we haven't seen him since. Hmmmm...
Love for Fiona
We may possibly have a match surfacing for Fiona!
*eeeekk*
 Introduce, Kevin, the town's blacksmith, who we've conveniently never seen before, ( actually we have seen him before, but I thought he worked for Lee!). Fiona meets  Kevin when they are both picked as member's of Clara and Jesse's wedding party.  When a little mishap occurs to Mr. Gowen's car while Fiona is borrowing it, she turns to Kevin for help, and flattered by her confidence, does his best to repair the car.
*eeecckkk*
They are so cute together!  I hope Hallmark continues their relationship in future episodes.  As the season draws to a close, Fiona finds her job in Hope Valley being possibly threatened by her boss.
Henry Gowan is in trouble... again!
For quite a while Henry Gowan has been one of our favorite characters, so i'd like to take this opportunity to ask WHY CAN'T THEY LET THE POOR  MAN BE? *sigh* So first problem, big surprise, Henry is working himself into the ground.
The reason he’s overworking/stressing is because his business is having financial problems and Henry is trying to dig himself out of the hole all by his lonesome.  This leads to conflict with his not-so-silent-partner Lucas who is becoming suspicious.
Finally, Elizabeth drags the truth out of him...
And tries, but fails to convince him that he is not alone.
 Though Henry and Lucas try to work things out, the situation doesn't end well for either of them, but no doubt everything will work itself out as it always does in Hallmarks.
#WhoWillGetElizabeth?
On the TEAM NATHAN/Team Lucas front, (WE ARE TEAM NATHAN!!!!!!!!!!!) we continue to see their rivalry for Elisabeth play out .
I still can't fathom how there is even a choice for Elisabeth to make here - I mean, come on - Lucas is just too highfalutin for her!  He always has just the perfect, charming thing to say, his suit is always crisp, his hair always immaculately combed, and he just isn't very REAL!!
Nathan, on the other hand, is so genuine, so everyday, someone who will be there through the thick and thin not that Lucas wouldn't, but he'd be too busy taking his suits to the dry-cleaners, and so kindhearted!  He would make a terrific father for Jack, and he, Allie, Elisabeth, and Jack would make the perfect family.  And lets be honest, if Jack (Jack the first, not Jack Jr.) had met either of the two fellows in question, who would he have approved of for Elisabeth to pursue?  AND, who out of them resembles Jack Thornton......AT ALL???.......I'll give you a clue:
Aha!  See, I told you so!
Anyways, there were some good moments for both bachelors this season. Lucas arranges for tickets for himself and Elisabeth to go to Union City to hear aspiring author Virginia Woolf read aloud from her new book. This trip included a very impractical picnic by the roadside, a black-tie ball and a fancy smancy dinner. Lucas does his best to sweep Elizabeth off her feet and let's just say the girl is officially swept!
Later on in the season, Lucas asks Elizabeth to meet him in the library, where he again sweeps her off her feet with a dinner that certainly is not a date, why would you think that? We're just having dinner... with no one else... in a candle lit room... with champagne... talking about what we would do if this was a date. AHHHHHH!!!!!! I will give it to Lucas it was very nice, but still too smooth and oily!!
Well, we hope you enjoyed our discombobulated ramblings about this dear little show! What are you all watching these days? Have you seen When Calls the Heart Season 7? What did you think and what were your favorite parts?
