Let's Get Aquainted!

     Hello There,

My name is Grace Avender and with my older sister Katherine, we, daughters of the King of Kings, welcome you to our blog! We are two farm girls who come from a homeschooling family of five.  We are the only two left at home, the rest having celebrated their nuptials, and built families of their own.  We love to read, travel, decorate cakes (Katherine), listen and watch Broadway musicals and do all things period drama.  So let us pour you a glass of Mamma's famous (in our humble estate at least) Strawberry Lemonade to enjoy as you read our posts about faith, fun, and our crazy life!

~ The Authors ~

     Katherine ~
A red headed cake decorator, and fellow thespian (so therefore I sing and quote heavily with Grace) who loves books, Jane Austen, period dramas, the luscious wardrobes of years past, hairdressing, writing, rainy days (such romantic weather), my sister, Grace, etc.  Grace is "my partner in crime", my best friend, the cherry to my ice cream sundae, the buttercream to my cake, the flip to my flop, the "raindrops to my roses"!  If you ever find yourself in an unfortunate scrape with a time machine, and needed to locate my whereabouts in another era, you would find me nestled in the library of a cottage (or estate - I can't decide :), my forest green gown's folds escaping the confines of the window seat where I read contentedly with my fluffy cat, and my cup of tea, while the rain falls outside....

    ~ Grace ~
The barefoot maiden who wishes to be running along Scottish moors, living in a cottage in the middle of the woods with a cow and some goats, red headed children surrounding my skirts and a husband on the way home to a dinner.....THAT IS BURNING!!!!!! I'm back - phew!  That was a close imaginary scrape!!! I enjoy spending time with my sister Katherine, the beloved nut of our family tree, discovering history and taking care of my five effervescent nephews.
